With one round to go, The Masters leaderboard is starting to take shape at Augusta National. Justin Rose maintains a two-shot lead after shooting a 1-under 71 in the third round, with Rory McIlroy and Bryson DeChambeau nipping at his heels.
DeChambeau has made a great start to the final round, with a birdie at the 12th and an eagle at the 13th. He hasn’t been as accurate off the tee as usual though, with just six fairways and nine greens in regulation in this round. He bogeyed the 14th and dropped another shot at the 15th as he lost his grip on the top spot.
Despite the blips, he’s still a threat and he’s joined by the likes of Adam Scott, Darren Clarke and Hideki Matsuyama. There’s also a familiar face on the edge of the pack as the Northern Irishman Brian Campbell is five over par.
There have been 94 holes-in-one in the history of The Masters. Each winner receives a crystal vase and players who make a double eagle or ace are presented with a pair of crystal goblets. There are several traditions attached to the event, including that the winner is presented with their green jacket by the previous year’s champion. Afterwards, the reigning champion keeps their jacket in a special cloakroom at the clubhouse. The champion may not remove the jacket until a year after winning, when it’s returned to the tournament committee. The runner-up wears a red jacket.
