The US Open starts on the last Monday of August and runs for two weeks, with the middle weekend coinciding with United States Labor Day. The tournament takes place at the Billie Jean King National Tennis Center in Flushing Meadows, New York City. The tournament features outdoor hard courts with retractable roofs at Arthur Ashe Stadium and Louis Armstrong Stadium, with the main stadiums offering both day and night sessions. Women play best-of-three sets; men play best-of-five. Players are assigned to either the top or bottom half of their draw, and tournament officials make daily decisions about which halves will play during which sessions and on which courts.
2025 US Open schedule
This year’s US Open will feature the first expanded 15-day tournament format, with Round 1 spanning three days (Sunday-Tuesday) instead of just two. But other than this change, the rest of the event remains unchanged.
Here’s a look at this year’s main-draw singles and doubles schedules:
Jannik Sinner will open the men’s draw as the defending champion, playing No. 25 seed Felix Auger-Aliassime. He’s expected to run through that round, with a possible quarterfinal match against Jack Draper or Alexander Zverev. In the other quarterfinal, Carlos Alcaraz will take on No. 7 Novak Djokovic. Both players were able to reach the semifinals without dropping a set, and that could prove crucial in their battle to win the title. The semifinals will be played Friday, Sept. 5, with traditional broadcast coverage on ESPN, plus individual court streams available.
